DJ Mark Goodier Wiki and Biography: Mark Goodier was born on June 28, 1961 (age 55) in Harare, Zimbabwe. His family moved to Llanfairfechan, Wales shortly after he was born, eventually settling in Edinburgh, Scotland when he was 8 years old. He was educated at George Heriot’s School, in Edinburgh. He became a mobile DJ in Edinburgh and then joined a local Free Radio Station, where his radio career began. He joined BBC Radio 1 in 1987, beginning a 15-year stint with the station, beginning with a two-hour Saturday night show.

Mark Goodier has suffered a stroke and confirmed he is away from work while he recovers from the stroke. Goodier has provided cover on BBC Radio 2 for presenters such as Steve Wright and Simon Mayo when they are on leave.
