Yulia Efimova Wiki and Biography: Yulia Efimova was born on April 3, 1992 (age 24) in Grozny, Russia. According to Wikipedia, after the First Chechen War she and her family moved to Volgodonsk. There, Yefimova was coached by one of the local sports schools headed by her father Andrey Mikhailovich. Until 2011, she lived in Taganrog, where she was coached by Merited Coach Irina Vyatchanina. In March that year, she moved to the United States, where in California she is coached by David Salo, the head coach of the University of Southern California men’s and women’s swimming team.

Career: Yefimova is a four-time World Champion, winning the 50 meters breaststroke at the 2009 World Championships, the 50 meters and 200 meters breaststroke events in 2013, and the 100 meters breaststroke in 2015. She is a former world record holder in the 50 meters breaststroke.
